Outlook and buyback
For the fourth quarter, Airbnb expects revenue of $3.22 billion to $3.28 billion, up 16% to 18% with about 2 percentage points of help from currency moves, according to AskTraders. The site said the average analyst estimate was $3.16 billion, citing Yahoo Finance.
For all of 2026, Airbnb now expects revenue growth in the high teens, according to AskTraders and Finimize, and an adjusted EBITDA margin of about 36%, per AskTraders. The new buyback authorization lets the company repurchase up to an additional $12 billion of its Class A stock.
What it means for investors
Airbnb earns a fee on each stay and experience booked through its app, so the number of nights booked and the total value of those bookings tell you whether demand is holding up. Nights booked rose 16% and booking value 21% in the third quarter, and first-time bookers grew 13%, the fastest since early 2022, AskTraders reported.
A buyback reduces the number of shares outstanding, which can lift earnings per share over time, but it is an authorization, not a promise to buy a set amount by a set date.
