Privacy Policy
Last updated: November 4, 2026
This policy explains what information Berawang News (“we”, “us”) collects when you use berawangnews.com, how we use it, and the choices you have. We will update this page whenever we add a new service that handles your data, such as analytics or advertising, and change the date above.
Information we collect
- Technical data. Like most websites, our servers and our network provider (Cloudflare) process your IP address, browser type, the pages you request and the time of each request. This is needed to deliver the site, keep it secure and protect it from abuse.
- Newsletter. If you subscribe, we collect your email address and use it to send the newsletter. Every email includes a link to unsubscribe.
- Messages you send us. If you email us, we keep your message and email address to reply and to keep a record of corrections and requests.
We do not ask for, and do not want, financial account numbers, passwords or government ID numbers. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13.
Cookies and similar technologies
Our pages for readers do not set advertising or tracking cookies at this time. Cloudflare may set strictly necessary cookies to protect the site from bots. If we add analytics or advertising in the future, we will update this policy and, where the law requires it, ask for your consent first.
How we use information
- To provide, secure and improve the website
- To send newsletters you asked for
- To respond to your messages and correction requests
- To comply with legal obligations
Who we share it with
We share information only with service providers that help us run the site, such as our hosting provider, Cloudflare and our email or newsletter provider, and only as needed for them to provide their services. We may also disclose information if required by law. We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, including California and other U.S. states with privacy laws, the European Union and the United Kingdom, you may have the right to know what personal information we hold about you, to get a copy, to correct or delete it, and to opt out of its sale or sharing. To make a request, email [email protected]. We will not discriminate against you for exercising these rights.
How long we keep information
Server logs are kept for a limited period for security purposes. Newsletter data is kept until you unsubscribe. Emails are kept as long as needed to handle your request and keep records of corrections.
Security
We use encryption in transit (HTTPS), access controls and regular backups to protect information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we work to protect your data.
